Paparazzi

Fast Money,
Funny Job
Have you ever wondered what the hell you are doing in your day job?
Day after day of drudgery and tedium only to have the prospect of
looking forward to it all over again the next day. Don't get me
started on the money. How in the heck are you going to have a
reasonable lifestyle on the "drip feed" system they put us on. They
feed you enough to keep a roof over your head and fed. Beyond that
everything is tight. I remember coming home every night and on week
ends dog tired. Like physically exhausted. I did that for over 10
years including my aprenticeship, it was soul destroying work that
never seemed to end. I could look forward to another half a century
of this torture as the rest of my life looked pretty bleak. I
thought about starting my own business and so forth, but as I've
already learned, most business people find that running your own
business involves taking a big pay cut and a huge increase in head
aches and responsibilities.
I resigned myself to the fact that this was my station in life and
I would make the best of it. One night me and my buddies went out
on the town and we went to an upmarket club where we nearly didn't
get in but we slipped the door chick a $50 and she let us in. This
act, of bribing the security at entrance was a spontaneous idea.
It's nothing new, but not the type of thing I usually do. That
night, when I made that sponataneous gesture of bribery, I started
a chain of events that led to my current future.
The second thing that happened that night almost by accident is
that I had a chance to flirt with Paris Hilton. Nothing serious,
she was goofin of with her friends and I said hi and told her she
looked great tonight. No big deal but it was momentous!. The final
thing that happened was directly responsible for my finding enough
courage to quit my job and start earning an enourmous living as a
Paparazzi.
I bumped into a paparazzi photographer that night in this up market
establishment. I bought him a drink and he told me about the
business. About how long he had been in it and how much he had made
so far. He told me his experiences and I was feeding him drinks all
night just so he wouldn't stop talking to me about this. He told me
how easy it is to get a picture, a money shot. How quick you get
paid and where to sell your property. He told me about the typical
places he haunts to get his bread and butter shots. He talked about
the life style and the travel. He talked about the experiences he
had and how to avoid pissing of the more explosive celebrities and
still get the money shot. He was really helpful and Jim Evans is a
close friend of mine today.
